The fleetbooks note an average of 3-5 LY per jump *outside* star gravity
influence.  Consequently shorter jumps the closer to a gravity source
you
get.

>From memory it takes 4-5 jumps completely clear a system, 2-4 jumps for

average interstellar trip and then 4-5 jumps to get to the target
planet.

Thinking about it, the outward leg of the trip from "Starblazers (Space
Battleship Yamato)" matches the FT jumpdrive limits...
