Genghis in Denver went well. Nobody lynched me after the game. ;-)
That's the GM's mark of success right?
We had eight players showup for the cross-over battle. Half experienced
players, half new people.
We mixed Star Wars, Star Trek and B5. With the new fighter rules,
sort of. I screwed up and mixed in some old fighter rules by mistake
but none of the players noticed.
It got very busy for me as a first time GM but Scott Field got me
through it fine. Sadly, I was so busy I have no pictures of the
battle or the players. :-(
General observations:
Grazers are nasty weapons if they strike. Of the grazer shots in the
game,
between 1/3 to 1/2 hit.
I like fighter better under the newest playtest rules, even though I
butched them, than I did before.
Laminated fighter counters with boxes for fighter count are nice. I
don't
have any fighters on stands so I made a counter with six boxes, a
picture and
laminated it. Dead fighters were marked with an overhead marker.
Worked great!
Mixing Star Trek and Star Wars led to some strange events. Tie fighters
attacking the Enterprise-D and going pop. Tie fighters vs Starfuries
was
an even matchup.
Since I have questions about the new fighter rules, I'm planning on
running
a dummy game at home with the same situations I saw in the game and post
it
to the lists for comments. "Can I use a P-torp against fighters?"
Hopefully we'll have some of the players show up on the list and post an
ARR.
