Depends on whether or not you want computer support to be required to
use 
the points system. For a "back-of-envelope"-style system which doesn't 
involve square roots and similar maths functions it is very difficult;
for 
Starmada-style systems which *do* involve such maths functions it is
"only" 
time-consuming.
