First thing that came to my mind was a thin chip on top, with a cutout
'window'. Same thing as a life counter for CCG's.

Battleshift?
Anyway, a friend's game shop has been unloading these large dice with
hearts or trees for pips. The pips have a certain ship's silhouette
quality. I may have a go using the dice as squadrons by themselves, IF I
can get the local lip-service fans playing again.
