 From Beth:

A question on your timeline, really a question about the general GZG
timelines on the net... with all of space available do the same enemies
trip over each other as happens on Earth? Why not unexpected new
tensions? I can understand general tensions, but with little padding it
seems illogical (though maybe I'm being naive) for

"2126	The colony on Tzfat (population ~50,000) is overwhelmed and
destroyed by IF forces."
Similarly why the sudden strike by IF in 2173?

Reasonable questions, and possibly I'm carrying too much current
politics and animosities into the next century. I also was not
particularly looking at the map for those events. If we go by Nyrath's
map (or other potentially logical colonization paths) IF and NI could
indeed be very spatially separated except around Earth itself. Perhaps
the 2126 event is a Jihadi splinter movement. Perhaps it's the IC
instead of the IF (though they may be more spatially separated). I
could see the ESU or the Romanovs, or the LLAR overrunning and annexing
the colony, but not destroying it. The 2173 Homeland war was something
I wanted to 1) put a climax on NI-IF hostilities in pre-Fleetbook time,
so that there was a groundwork for encounters in the "present," but not
a hot war on top of the Xeno war, and 2) give NI a reason to ramp up
it's military industrial complex to build its own fleet. The Homeland
War clears out the motley assortment of secondhand and purchased NAC,
NSL, and IJN elements and converted freighters.

Never underestimate your ability to overestimate your ability. -
