Besides which, range is NOT rpt NOT the only consideration in a
firefight. In fact the vast majority of firefights take place at
under 300m. In urban terrain, drop that considerably. Closer to 50m
in a lot of cases.
If you take a force armed with M1903 Springfields and have them take
on a force armed with M-4 carbines in wooded or urban terrain, the
guys with the modern guns will have a serious advantage.
