I think it's a simple thing to do with rank and file type forces.  Take
modern day US and UK force TOEs and extend it forward.

Three squads/vehicles per platoon or four?

What is the current Russian and Chinese TOE?  Extend it.

Of course I'm sure it's *WAY* more complex than that.  ;)
