SG2 ESU OOB

In an effort to get us back on mission:

I recently purchased a platoon's worth of SG2 ESU figures from GZG and
avoided the ones with the "cammo cape", just because I thought that
whole
concept seemed a bit contrived.

Is the ESU the only side that employs this garment?  Have I just
violated
canon by my decision?!	Obviously, my platoon can be outfitted however I
decide, but I am curious about what you diehards think about this, if at
all.
