I once let an opponent have any light mech he wanted,
any tech level.  I ran a lance of Savannah Masters
against him.  Cleaned the floor with him.  He never
played me again. ;-)

Having said that, for the player who WANTS walkers to
be powerful, there should be ways of simulating that, too.
