Samurai, especially late period ones, also made massed charges with
lance-like Yari spears. The film 'Ran' gives a vivid example, based on
historical events. BTW they were shot to pieces in their last and most
famous charge.

But discussing whether Huszars or Samurai were better fighters sounds
suspiciosly like those well-known Ancients games everybody jokes about
(Even
if I brought up this off-topic topic).
