I wouldn't use black unless you want really hard shadows--brown or
another dark color would be better.  1 part Future acrylic floor wax to
about 3 parts water, and "add ink to taste"--I've seen suggestions of
ratios of ink:wash of anywhere from 1:15 up to 3:2 --you're probably
best to try something around 1:8 and add more ink if that's not dark
enough for you
