V2 solves the invalidation problem by posing a "What If" that goes back
in
time. Instead of revamping the storyline every few years, it
presupposes an
alternative ending to a particular point in the past that then sets in
motion an alternate series of events that leads to the WWIII scenario on
which the game is based.
The other advantage of the game, and particularly the web discussion
group,
is that because T2K V2.2 uses the same system as AD 2300, Traveller: New
Era
and Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, any discussions on mechanics can be applied
to
any of the games.
