I've read both these which was part of what was bubbling around when I
wrote
the message together with Conspiracy-X's description of Atlantean
nano-tech.
However with my "willing suspension of disbelief" switched off I tend to
agree with John A. It's just too much like magic, if I mention it in my
games it's as "crome" (them there Damage control parties are really
representing a nano based self repairing system etc.

GURPS Ultra Tech 2 as some good stuff about nanotech. 
SJG also has a new sf game coming out called TransHuman Space with some
very
good nanotech and bioengineering stuff in it, I got to read the playtest
version.
