Having run in a few convoy escort scenarios, I suggest the following.

The group of trucks have been placed under the command of the platoon 
leader for that tank platoon. His job is to get them from A to B in a 
reasonable amount of time and intact.

The trucks are now subservient to the PltLdr and work with them right?
