Presumably the natural range of the weapon. At elevation, ranges for
small calibre weapons are much longer than the size of typical gunnery
ranges used for direct fire.
A few months ago, cannon rounds from a Bradley hit a school in Southern
Germany. It was several Kilometers from the shooting range.
Fortunately, no one was hurt and the material damage was small.
