They're simple office supplies number stickers, glued on before applying
the basing material. A friend of mine got an even better system, using a
lettering machine; the numbers are slightly smaller and stand out less
as
a result. I'll probably be getting one to put full regimental
information
on my volley & bajonet franco-prussian war stands.

As for the comms specialist, I enjoyed painting that figure. The cats
have
to take some credit, though, as they supplied one discared whisker, free
of charge, for the antenna.
