I'm more willing than most on this list to admit to reading GW stuff.
In GW rules (applicable purely because they've had to perform some
exercise or
attempt to balance Tyranids), all Tyranids have a chance to destroy
vehicles
once within a single move's range of them (ie. even the lowliest packs
some
close range anti-armour punch).
Also, about half the Tyranid 'tanks' should have transport capability in
addition to close range anti-tank weaponry, the hormogaunts, gargoyles,
and
harridan should be about as fast as transports, and they should get a
move bonus
when initiating close assaults. Add a few 'tanks' which give extended
hive mind
control (bigger radius than warriors).
