Lieutenant.  Very rare to have a captain in charge of
a line platoon.  SF forces are, as always, different. 
They have captains in charge of squads.

A company commander has a few flunkies--radio
operators and drivers and such.  That's all I give
him.  He shouldn't need extra protection.
