My mother's parent were separated by  12 and a half years. They managed
to 
make sixty years together. They were quite a pair, "frankness" was
invented 
by them I think. They could fight like nobody's business but they were 
absolutely devoted to one another. He spent the war years being one of
the 
comptrollers for the Manhattan Project.
