Underwater ideas was Re: [OT] Pertaining to all things Beth

Beth, Thank you.  I have this little Campaign (solo so far but there are
local cons...) and the dominant terrains are (land) Swampy to wet plains
with one decent mountain chain and (ocean) shallow to deep with sea
mining of Amcrys (Starguard's version of DiLithium) by submarine teams. 
It *was* a single planetary government (People's Holy Republic -
Communist Christians anyone?) until the only major island continent and
ther major mountain province rebelled (assisted by Rep-Com - think
American Capitalists at their worst) and Fabian (Eastern European
Socialists (think Warsaw Pact with out Russia).  Did I mention the local
lizards (Ralnai) and the 'hungry bugs' (Dreenoi) plus the Nekton
(Paranoid Amphibs) having a secret colony planning conquest from the
depths?

Yeah, I will need these kind of ideas/rules eventually...
