Don't you mean, "Je suis petit"? Unless of course you really meant to
say
"I have Pete, /my homosexual lover/" [Emphasis added] In which case I
take
great umberage and protest at all levels!

Our local group has come up with questions regarding fighter types.
Specifically is it canon for mix of fighter types? ie Long Range
Torpedo fighters? Heavy Attack fighters, Fast Interceptors?
What has Jon said on the Subject?

Hmm.. interesting concept, it's accuracy increases with range, while its
damage reduces.
how about the converse - damage increases with range, while accuracy
reduces - use the tabel above, but invert the last two columns - psb -
some kind of 'energy charge' that builds up as it travels through space?

This seems to be a popular varient rule - but IIRC I've never seen an
official write-up - although I quite like the idea of
a) give 'standard' fighters different load outs - ie. anti-fighter
missiles for interceptors, or 'drop tanks' for long range.
b) a system to design slighly tweaked 'custom' fighters for different
races/nations.
The modular figher rules by Jared Noble (IIRC) do a good job of handling
the latter.

Jared Noble has a page on combining fighter characteristics, although I

I was reading Rob H's page <glad to see it back up and running> and
reading
his conversions for the CoDominion, the 5th Foreign Legion, and also for
a
couple of other things I hadn't seen before. It occurs to me that I have
seen conversions for Hammer's Slammers (at least for Dirtside) and I
have
yet to see a conversion scheme for:
1) Joel Rosenberg: Metzadans Mercenary Corp. Books: Not For Glory,
Hero.
2) Rick Shelley: Dirigent Mercenary Corp. Books: Officer-Cadet,
Lieutenant,
Captain, Major, etc.
3) David Weber: Manticoran Royal Marines and the Peeps. Books: Honour of
the
Queen, On Basilisk Station, etc. etc.
4) Chris Bunch/Alan Cole: Imperial Armed Forces. Books: Sten, Court of a
Thousand Suns, Wolf Worlds, etc.
5) ?: human retribution force. Book: Seeds of War
6) Frank Herbert: Sardaukar, Fremen, House troops for Atreides and
Harkonen.
Books: Dune, More Dune, Still More Dune, Too Much Dune, Should've
Stopped
Long Ago Dune, etc.
I have started work on a new SG2 page. (fancier, zoomier, with the help
of
an actual web-geek named Adrian J... whom I know has signed off for Xmas
so
can't reply to my little jabs... LOL! )
I'm hoping to actually acquire a domain in the new year and do something
sharp the absolute stargrunt site did (though slightly different).
In that vein, I'd like to consolidate a copy of every SG2 conversion I
can
find on that site, all duly attributed. So if you've developed stats for
any
'book forces' or 'movie forces', please grant me your permission to use
them
and send them to me. Similarly, if you've done game->game conversions
(like
the Traveller->SG2 conversions me and Allan have written independently),
I'd
love to see them too.
I don't want to infringe anyone's copyrights, but I'd like to get this
stuff
consolidated (at least copies of it!). I will, at the author's
discretion,
include an URL to their homepage or a mailto address for them.
You can reach me at tomb@bitheads.ca
My thanks for your attention. ;)
