OT: Real World HELs

It's off topic, but might be interesting to you guys on the list.  Today
the 
US Army  just tested a HEL against a missile in flight and was able to
shoot 
the thing down.  The HEL was developed with Israel and the press release

says that Israel will soon start deploying these systems along Israel's 
northern border to protect the country against missile attacks.
Interesting
