Actually, I'd class the 105mm as a 3, not a 4, but that's just my view. 
The
reasons?  Well, at decent ranges it can't penetrate (supposedly) the
frontal
armor of an M1A1, and I class those as size 4/armor 4 so...I call the
105mm
a HKP 3 equivalent.  But, of course, it all depends upon what you've
decided
on in terms of relative capability.

My ratings for some current vehicles:

LAV-25	  Size 2, Amphib HMW CFE, RFAC-1, 1 inf team, 2 APSW (coax and
pintel), Armor 1/1, FC is enhanced

LAV-AT	  Size 2, Amphib HMW CFE, GMS/H, 1 APSW, Armor 1/1, Guidance is
enhanced or superior (I'm not sure which mark of TOW is carried)

AAV-7	 Size 4, Amphib slow track CFE, 4 inf teams, 2 APSW (M2 + M19),
Armor 1/1, FC is basic

BTR-70	  Size 2, Amphib HMW CFE, 2 inf teams, 2 APSW (14.5 and 7.62),
Armor
1/1, FC is basic

AMX-30/Leo 1/OF-40/M60
		Size 3, fast track CFE, HKP-3, 2 APSW, LAD (for those
with
M2 AAMG), Armor 3/2 (armor goes to R for those refitted with reactive),
FC
is either Enhanced or Superior depending upon mark

M1A1	Size 4, fast track CFE, HKP-4, 3 APSW, LAD, Armor 4/3R (I know
it's
not really reactive, but the armor is very effective vs HEAT), FC is
Superior

T-55	Size 2, fast track CFE, HKP-3, APSW, Armor 2/1 (armor goes to R
for
those fitted with reactive), FC is either Basic or Enhanced, depending
upon
mark

That's just to let you see how I've categorized modern stuffed.

You could also say that a LAV with a large turret on it is size class 3
instead of 2, and so therefore go ahead and mount a size 4 weapon (but
keep
the armor at level 2 or 1).

Just a thought or two for your consideration.
