It's all styrene. Evergreen and Plastruct make a wide variety of
"chunks"
to play with.

However, I've done regular figs on occasion - though more modification
than
building entirely from scratch. Green putty (the blue and yellow kind)
and
fine milliput are the substances of choice there.
