Just a note or two on the use of LGB's for Tank plinking:
During DS, the LGB's were used at night against non-moving targets....
the 
way the sensors track the DFO tracks in a spiral around the beam, so it
is 
pretty bad at tracking a moving target...
The F-111's were used extensivly in DS, they carried and deployed the
"Deep 
Penatrator" GBU's used agains the super hardened and buried deep
bunkers, 
noteable the "105 howiter barrel" bombs, and the 109's which went after
and 
killed those "hard to get" places...
