I agree. There is a problem writing fiction based on game rules though.
A
wargamer's AAR covering the specifics of time periods rnage bands and
rules, just don't always cross over well to a good story telling.
(especially to the vast majority of SF readers that are not wargamers)
This requires bending the shape of events or specifics to make the
fiction
work, which is the main priority of the exercize.
