[GZG-TER] Measuring Sticks

I have made up two 18" measuring sticks, divided into 3×6" parts - red,
yellow and green. They look fantastic and make me realise how small my
table is (but it should be 8×6' by the weekend!).

I am tempted to make a portable version - 3 12" lengths of brass rod
with smaller diameter rod inside so they fit together - I wonder how
easy it would be to put a thread on them? If paint does not hold I
suppose I could use engineers' blue to colour either the end ones or the
middle ones.
Maybe I should stick with a tape measure...

BTW what table sizes does everyone use? What is 'normal' or rather what
is the mean table size? Is the US/UK size split real?
