I don't think you'll get excommunicated, but a thought about POINT BLANK

fire. target movement is much harder to keep up with as the target gets 
CLOSER. A tiny twitch of the barrel targets somebody 300 yards out, but
you 
might have to swing the muzzle through 180 degrees to cover someone 3
feet 
away. Reaction time is the decision maker up close and personal. That
counts 
in hand to hand as well: hence "telephone booth" karate techniques.
