G'day,

They cost 30 (I think as I'm doing this from memory - I'll have to check
sorry).

In all respects you consider them to be standard fighters (though we are
considering changing this so they have the same dogfight stats as an
attack
fighter) except that they can perform boarding actions if so desired.
Note
that they don't have to attack by baording, they can attack ships as
normal
fighters do if you want - they do this with the stats of a normal
fighter.
When the fighter attack is designated the player announces whether its a
normal fighter attack of a potential boarding action attack and then
anti-fighter defense (PDS etc) is complete as usual. After the PDS etc
fire
is complete, if the mechas are going to board, for every 3 mecha
fighters
left in the attack (rounding if there are not staright multiples of 3
left)
you get one offensive factor for the boarding action and then the
boarding
action is played out as normal. Note, that if the mecha win the boarding
action they can't take over and man the ship, it just becomes a hulk.

These rules seem to work well so far - I think Michael (the guy who uses
the Mecha and came up with the rules) has done a good job of avoiding
the
temptation of making them a super-weapon.

Cheers

Beth
