Appologies for the slow reply, this due to having to dig around in the 
loft.

The JTAS Article is called "Hunting Bugs, Striker and Chamax Plague / 
Horde" and was in number 17. There were several nasty things about bugs,

one was that there were lots of them. Another was that their acid
attacks 
were cumalative over time - the longer they stayed in melee the more
damage 
they did. Oh and radio signals act as an attractor. They ignore morale
but 
always act on instinct heading for the nearest food source be it a
scenery 
or your troops. The technology of the world where they caused trouble
was 
quite low at Traveller Tech level 6 (about WWII).
