That sounds familiar...My PA is on bases 1" wide and about 1/2" deep -
the
width was determined by the ruler I was using for cutting, so that's how
wide they were...ditto my cavalry, on 1" x 1", also determined by my
metal
ruler...

The rest of my infantry is all Irregular's SF inf, which comes cast into
bases, and some of my GMS/L teams are Scotia, likewise ready based. The
rest of my specialist teams are on roughly 1/2" x 1/2" bases.

All my homemade bases are thin sheet styrene plastic, painted before the
figs are glued down and flocked afterward.
