Hmm, I'll have to look up the actual book when I get home; the quote off
the
GZG history online is just:

"2123 Islamic Federation and ESU forces clash on Earth as the ESU
massacres
many Muslims in an anti-Islamic pogrom in the Indian sub-continent.
Diplomatic efforts result in an escalation to full scale war being
averted"

This infers that Pakistani's are probably bearing the brunt of this
pogrom.
The reference to the invasion of the indian sub-continent doesn't
qualify an
end state and gives no details on what was annexed or subsumed into the
ESU.

Jon T any comments?

Actually, they are part of ESU--remember reference to clash between ESU
and IF over an anti-Muslim pogram in Indian subcontinent, which ended
when ESU sacked the Hindu who came up with the idea?
