	If you can lay your hands on a copy, the
	energy shield rules in GURPS:LENSMAN
	are worth looking at.

	It handles layers of shields and
	"local overloads" quite nicely.

	After all, the Langston field does
	act suspiciously like the force
	screens in the Lensman novels.
