Subject: Alternatives to test messages
As a couple of alternatives to test-please-ignore messages, how about:
1) To check that your mail is getting 'out', and that replies can get
'in':
Send a message to:
Echo@TU-Berlin.DE
It should reply, including a copy of your message (including headers),
quoted
using '>'.
[ There are probably other echo servers around, but this one seems to
work
ok,
and it's probably not worth listing others here]
2) To check that you're signed on to this mailing list:
Send a message to:
mxserver@bolton.ac.uk
The body of the message should be the line:
QUERY FTGZG-L
Alun.
