		##WSWGS Tournament##

On Saturday the 28th of Feb and Sunday the 1st of March the
Western
Suburbs Gamers Society (of Sydney Australia for all you Yanks, Poms,
Canadians, Finns etc etc that can't make it) will be holding their
annual
tournament at the Blacktown Police and Citzens Youth Club (corner of
Second
and Boys avenue). This tournament for the first time we will be running
a
tournament for Full Thrust. Yours Truly has been given the task of
making
it all go smoothly. We hope to get 4 games done on each day.

FLEETS.
Players are asked to construct 4 fleets.
	Patrol fleet	-	750pts	-	50% escorts, 50%
crusiers.
	Escort fleet	-	900pts	-	50% escorts, 50%
crusiers.
	Defence fleet	-	1000pts-	30% escorts, 50%
crusiers, 50% capital.
	Attack fleet	-	2000pts-	30% escorts, 50%
crusiers, 50% capital.

Only ships from "Full Thrust" and "More Thrust" are allowed but
no Kra'Vak
ships. Each fleet can only contain one of the following ship types:
Privateer, System Defence Crusier (Defence fleet only) and one of each
type
of capital (ie you may have one fleet carrier and one light carrier but
not
two light carriers)

RULES.
Turn sequence is as normal except that fighters take a half move
before
ship movement and a further half move after. All damage, damage control
and
threshold tests must be made openly by both players. All ships must
start
on table and if a ship leaves the table it cannot return. Standard
fighter
deployment (launching) and retrieval will be used.
C batteries can be used as anti fighter defence.
No fighter group may have more than one advancement (ie you can
have Heavy
fighters and Torpedo fighters but you can't have Heavy-Torpedo fighters.

FEES.
Entries close 22 Feb 98. If you enter before the end of the year
the cost
is $20.00, before the 15 Feb 98 it is $25.00 and up to the 22 Feb the
cost
is $30.00. To some people this may seem a bit high but the WSGS prides
itself on pouring all its sponsorship and 90% of entry fees back into
the
tournament as prizes and trophies. There is also a painting competition.
