Wow!  Thanks for the compliment.  Here's another tip y'all might be
interested in:

I ended up using different lengths sticking out of the back of the
fighter
so that I could get different echelon formations.

Like this (if it comes out right after mailing): 

	F    
	|	F	
	|	|	F
	|	|	|
	|	|	|		
	+	+	+

OR

			F

OR

	|	|	|

Where the + sign is where I bent the wires down.  Then I painted them
white, then red, then the yellow; and finally painted the excess wire
black
to tidy up the flames and make them a uniform length.

First time I've tried ASCII art -- If it doesn't look like anything then
I
guess it didn't work!
