It crashes & burns. An "IMM" chit works the same as a "BOOM" chit for
VTOLs -- after all, if the rotor(s) stop spinning, it's hard to see how
it can be an effective fighting vehicle any more!

It has no effect in the rules as they are written, but in our group we
have a house rule that adds a d6 or d8 defense die. We did this to try
to
make missiles a little less deadly, without pulling their teeth
altogether.
