To the readers of the list:
on or about 31MAY97, Alex Williams had this to say:
>As typical for me when I open my mouth about my political leanings,
but ... it /doesn't/ scare you to see the people ostensibly 'in
Authority' who have control of M-16's, MLRS artillery, F-117 fighters
and literal armies of nicely brainwashed soldiers kept in check only
by the thought that imposing complete martial law might be opposed by
'scary looking rednecks with some extra cash to spend'?<
As a member of the US Army, I take great offense at being referred to as
a
"nicely brainwashed soldier". Mr. Williams, if you take exception to
the
military policies of the US, please take it up with your legally elected
public officials. Do not blame the protectors of your freedom for any
perceived loss of said freedoms. If you think it's bad in the US, come
over
here to Bosnia, or any other former Communist nation. Now, as this is
not
"The Political Problem of the Month" Mailing List, I will keep this
brief.
In short, Mr. Williams, watch what you say about the members of the US
Armed
Forces, acitve, reserve or former. I'm sure there are plenty of former
servicemen on this mailing list, whether US, Canuck, Brit, Aussie, Kiwi
or
what not. Please keep future statements about servicemen respectful.
Just a
heads-up. I'm not saying you can't hold your views, just think about
your
target audience in the future.	Now, let's put this behind us and get on
to
discussing some game-related issues.
Yours,
Jay Arnold
