Right, that's the exception that proves the rule, hence the S, M, L
designations. Say under Mass 100 = Small, Mass 101-300 = Medium, and
over 300= Large (adjust these as you will they're off the top of my flat
ol' head). So yeah, you may kinda know, but never really know..... I
vote for sized bogeys for installations, PSB rationalization by having
lots of sensor sweeps for passive/active radiation, mass, whatnot. Most
bases (relatively) easy to find. The ones that are hidden, well, then
'anything' goes. Even with the 'known' quantities, there are always
surprises.....

Report log 2217144 CSN FF34(Elint) DeWitt Clinton 18th NavFltIntGrp

10:23:35 Captain Lopez,A.A. (324-556-101a): Sensors, give me a
tight-beam sweep of mass contact #32.

10:23:39 SenOp2gr. Paulson,T.S. (460-213-77t1): Yes Ma'am....
Scanning.... Mass near 270,000mt.... Energy Output.... Active 3700 s.u.,
Passive 5000 s.u..... Looks like one of their Delta-Two-Seven jobs,
Ma'am, Military Traffic Access and ops control.

10:25:04 Captain Lopez,A.A. (324-556-101a): SenOp, reclass 'Mass #32' a
hard contact with a D27 station. Statistics, Paulson ?

10:26:21 SenOp2gr. Paulson,T.S. (460-213-77t1): Ummmm... Ma'am if I
remember correctly they have an comprehensive anti fighter grid, and
some small 30mkj Beamers but nothing else tactically significant.

10:28:46 Captain Lopez,A.A. (324-556-101a): Nav, get us in for a closer
look.

11:33:18 WepOp1gr. Burden,L.R. (335-901-1121): Launch Contact confirmed
from Mass #32, er D27 Ma'am. Beginning autointercept calculations.

11:33:22 Captain Lopez,A.A. (324-556-101a): Good, man. Sensors, what do
we have ?

11:33:45 SenOp2gr. Paulson,T.S. (460-213-77t1): Incoming is a Magician
Type Missile time to impact with standard drive burn, 13 minutes, give
or take.

11:34:02 Captain Lopez,A.A. (324-556-101a): Weps, How's my autointercept
coming ?

11:34:12 WepOp1gr. Burden,L.R. (335-901-1121): Primary and secondary
evasives are set and locked, Ma'am, intercept plan is set, guns are
ready for missile targetting.

11:34:20 Captain Lopez,A.A. (324-556-101a): You may fire when ready
Gridley.

11:34:35 WepOp1gr. Burden,L.R. (335-901-1121): Ma'am ?

11:34:37 Captain Lopez,A.A. (324-556-101a): Never mind. At your
convenience, Mr. Burden, please shoot that missile down.

11:34:42 WepOp1gr. Burden,L.R. (335-901-1121): Yes, Ma'am.
