Well... think about it. If you convert any real carrier to a FT carrier 
with most obvious real world stats (number of planes), they'd almost 
always turn up as 2-4 times larger than the FT fleet carrier.

Obviously, it's pointless trying to replicate real world stats, you 
should go for the look & feel factor.

The Zentraedi ships *are* big (just how big depends on the translation 
you believe). But they're also manned by giants, meaning more empty 
space, space for life support etc. etc.

The sheer amount of wave guns is staggering, though. And they don't 
really have any smaller ships, only fighters and very big capitals...

Actually, those are allied micronized zentraedi. Like Mush from the
OAVs.
