Re: fan of OSource

hi i posted this on the message boards, can u guys comment on it? thanks,...

My general impression is that we can only add new space crafts and their HUD
and perhaps planets too. However we cant change certain things such as:

1) Simplyfying the view changing functionality so that a simple hold down
the midde mouse button and move the mouse changes the view instead of
Control + F1

2) Colision detection for 3D rendered terrain.

3) Adding guides such as a space grid and other artifical objects as a
navigation aid while in 3rd person perspective.

Am i close to the mark in the above analysis? If so do you all think the
author would be willing to hear our thoughts about this problem and find a
solution?

Perhaps he might be willing to make more of his closed code available so
that we can do more of these kinds of improvements for him?

compromises i guess... any how do you guys have a website up with all the
3rd pary objects? if not i would be happy to host a server to host a website
that will link together every 3rd party module so that we have a central
point of accessing stuff instead of painstakingly browsing thru message
boards and search engines and links.
