Roger, no, you only need a single object for the solar panels (ie.
one big box :-) . If you are using 3DMAX , as you set UVW MapCoords
modifier, there is a U ,V , W 'tile' (default 1.0 on all three)
Select the mapping type you want (probably box, though planar might
work better, select the axis of the plane, then enter the U,V,W (ie. the
number of times you want the texture to repeat on each axis).If you are lazy
about properly modelling the panels, just make sure you have an alpha chanel
on your textures (transparency), in the way to create the ilusion of
multiple small panels linked onto oneanother.
