'Clasps' are jewelry clasps used to connect the ends of necklaces and
bracelets.  Their are clasps you screw together and magnetic ones like he
mentioned.  Here are some examples:

You can find them at craft stores that sell supplied to make jewelry.

I've used quite a few of the screw-together clasps to base my spaceship
minis:
