For what its worth I would recommend checking out the following commercial producers: Ebbles Miniatures for a "Space Hulk" like layout with the Guncrawl tiles and Models, the older Derelict 1 & 2 sets would be great for neat Space ships and the Ambient elements such as computer & navigation consoles, beds and footlockers... the list goes on. The First Light set from Worldworks Games allows you to build a modular space ship, with neat add ons such as alien infestations... For tiles and textures for flooring look at either the Tilez Sci-Fi collection or the Alpha Station Flooring both available from RPGNOW...
