Only a simulated sinking :) And the best of the pictures made it to the
papers anyway.

Another incident, a co-ordinated attack from an O-boat and a brace of
F-111s was even more effective, though not as spectacular photographically.

There is a set of DVDs available from the Australian Submarine Association
that has a lot of stuff I'm flabbergasted was released. Video of the types
of things subs do, like taking photos of enemy vessels propellors while
remaining undetected, navigatiing *really* close to seamounts to "hide in
shadows", that kind of thing.
I think it may have appeared on SBS a while ago. Some scary stuff too, HMAS
Rankin had a few teeny problems when the camera crew was on board.
