These stories make good reading. Some back story questions. Why where the 
forces there? It doesn't sound like they were contracted in to fight the 
Phalons so what were they doing?

Who currently has control of space? If its the Phaolons then do they have 
bombardment capability? This isn't going to make too much of an effect on 
mobile units but could make supply dumps and immobile defences vulnerable to 
attack.
