[GZG] Strange Geopolitical

Such minor problems as running out of ammunition.
Try this one.

The US airforce plans on replacing it's in air
refueling fleet (about 500 aircraft) over the next
25 years at the rate of 20 aircraft a year. The two
contenders are Boing and Air Bus.

The state of Alabama has pledged $225 million of the
money pledged by the federal government for hurracane
Katrina relief to build a factory for Air Bus (if Air
Bus wins). I suspect that this factory would be only
for assembly with the majority of the parts and sub
assemblies comming from present Air Bus suppliers.

Translated: If Air Bus wins then the US Government
will subsidize a foreign company (partly owned by
France and Germany among other EU nations)to build
aircraft for the US Airforce with part of the profits
going back to those foreign nations (US subsidizing
France!!! EEK!!!).

I wonder if France will have a parts shortage if the
US Airforce gets into a shooting war that France
don't like. Would the French national airlines ever
let Boing win a contract to purchase aircraft?
