I kinda like Roger's suggestion of nebula. "Okay, place your forces on the table. Now all of you whose troops don't have vacuum gear, roll your quality dice. If you beat a six, you get to take one action before dying, otherwise you just die. Okay, that leaves us with, hm, Tony's Fun Guys from Yuggoth, Mike's power armor squad, and...that's all."
