Send them off to colonize a planet you intend to cede to your opponent
in the forthcoming negotiations. (40,000 in Gehenna, C J Cherryh)

Her AZI valued themselves by their utility, not looking for anything
beyond praise for a job well done or the equivalent "good tape".
By proper training you can prepare azi for anything, but if they meet
the unexpected and become unstable then you have to do the decent
thing and euthanase them. Psychotherapy wouldn't be a kindness.
