[GZG] FMAS scale

Allan,

I'd use 1"=3m and use 15mm figs if I had a 4x3 space, unless every battle was to be urban
or jungle/thicket. The weapon ranges are already going to be most or all of the table.

My preference for scope in most convention games is this: 2-4 manouver elements per
player. More than 4, you need fewer players. Less than 2, the player can get blown out of
the game early. I find 3 manouver elements per player to be about the sweet spot. Now,
that's SG2. In FMAS, a fireteam of 4 better figures or a squad of 6-8 poorer figures would
work, but since you'll still end up activating a goodly chunk of those, I'd restrict game
size to 6 players at that scale. I find generally that with a 3-4 player side (at least in
SG2), I don't want more than 20 manouver elements per side, and more likely 15-16.

If you're playing two player, or four player, you should probably target the same number
of overall manouver/activation elements and split them between the smaller player count.
If you want a shorter game, shorten the overall count by 20%.

When I did run some FMA skirmish testing, which was a while ago, I found that 4 players
with 6-8 man squads made for an interesting game. Platoon per side is a big game in FMAS,
for sure.
